Scott Hewitt Kolp was born on July 13, 1984 to Robert and Pamela Kolp. He was raised in Ivoryton, CT a small town located near the mouth of the Connecticut River. He received his secondary education at The Williams School located on the campus of Connecticut College in New London, CT. Afterwards he attended Wheaton College for one year before transferring to Brown University to complete his degree. There he studied with poets Robert Creeley, Michael S. Harper and Keith Waldrop among others and received his degree in Literary Arts in May of 2006. He currently splits his time between the Connecticut Shoreline and the Pioneer Valley in Western Massachusetts.
